Style Tips for Summer BBQ Chic
Posted on 03 July 2013
Wondering what to wear for the 4th of July weekend? The colors are warm but the looks are cool! Here are some style tips from Allegra:
Colors and textures are fun! Don’t be afraid to mix it up with the Second Nature Capri Leggings in white and the Express Yourself Top in sangria, covered by the Best In Class Tunic in batik. This is a great outfit to offer proportion. The “hour glass figure” is flattered by the asymmetry of the hem on the Express Yourself Top. The capri leggings are attractive on most shapes, and the broomsticked texture of the cover tunic gives some drama. This look will also give length to a shorter frame.
Keep it simple. The Cloud Cover Tunic in lemongrass can be worn as a short dress just above the knee. Throw the Do No Wrong Vest in white over the tunic and then you have a great easy breezy look. This A-line look can work with the fuller on the top / smaller on the bottom body. If your torso is on the shorter side, this look will give you length.
Layers can be flattering. The Second to None Top in ink pairs nicely with the Love It Cropped Pant in sandstone. Top it with the Command Attention Vest in feather and you have a nice cascading look. This works for the smaller on the top / fuller on the bottom figure. The goal is to give your figure proportion.
Don’t be afraid of prints. The Mesmerizing Tunic is a warm print that can be layered with the ever-useful Second Nature Capri Leggings in white, topped off with the Do No Wrong Vest in white, and you’ll be the talk of the BBQ. This tunic can be a short dress and has a slight balloon hem that is good for the curvy figure.
It’s fun to be bold! One of my favorite and also versatile color combinations is black, white and yellow. Throw on the Second Nature Capri Leggings in black with the Tee Time Tank in white, layer the Remix Top in lemongrass over it, and you have an easy yet stunning summer outfit. This is a figure versatile look as it can work on the long and lean or the curvy body.
Whatever look you choose this holiday, wear it with joy and have a fun and safe 4th of July! – Allegra
