Works Every Time Sweater
Chill Out Jacket
A self-proclaimed Berkeley enthusiast, I studied Social Welfare at Cal and worked over 25 years as a fundraiser for a variety of Bay Area nonprofits, including UC Berkeley, American Cancer Society and the Berkeley Symphony. Now in my mid-fifties, I just started a business called LoveBerkeley, a personal "welcome wagon" for Berkeley newcomers. It will be great fun to share my knowledge of Berkeley in-person with folks eager to learn more about this awesome community!
I am also driving with both Uber and Lyft and enjoy this flexible way of working very much. I have never stopped giving to the community and donate money to a variety of causes. I also volunteer as an Ambassador of the Berkeley Chamber of Commerce, serve on the Community Funds and Affiliates committees of the Berkeley Association of Realtors, and help out at Freight and Salvage Coffeehouse, Aurora Theater, The Marsh and San Francisco Playhouse performances.
I am a proud mom of a 21-year old daughter who is in college and studying abroad this year, and have a loving and caring boyfriend who I've been with for over five years!
What inspires you?
I love everything that is creative: art, music, poetry, theater, dance, fashion, crafts, spoken word - you name it! As a culture vulture, I am often inviting friends to join me in exploring all that's available to us in this culturally rich community. Going to Burning Man the past three years has been inspirational - the time, energy, financial investment and passion behind the art there is amazing.
Lately, I get additional inspiration from entrepreneurs. I enjoy going to seminars to hear about small business best practices and conversing with business owners about their entrepreneurial journeys. Being a social animal, I am also moved by great communication, satisfying personal and business relationships, and being around people in general.
My Style, My Statement
My personal style is eclectic. I enjoy dressing up and also being comfy and casual. I love to accessorize and have a huge collection of jewelry, scarves, hats and purses, which I pull out to be as self-expressed as I can be with my wardrobe. I wear my share of never-out-of-fashion black, but enjoy other solid colors and am not afraid of patterns. You will see me sport tie-dye, paisleys, florals, with no worries about keeping up with fashion trends. In fact, I like to be different and stand out in my own unique way. My art-filled home of over 24 years has been a place to incorporate color and textures both inside and out.
How I Feel When I Wear Stella
I'm new to the Stella bandwagon. So far, what I'm really responding to are the asymmetric lines of the clothing and the wonderful shapes of the pieces. I've only purchased solids so far, but look forward to exploring and finding pieces with patterns that flatter my "curves not all in the right places" body. When I wear Stella, I feel stylish, bold, confident and playful.... in other words, great!
